O Come, All Ye Faithful (PDF file for download)
Piano Duet - Early Advanced Level
Suitable for offertories, specials, concerts, recitals. Not for congregational accompaniment.
‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’ is an interesting intermediate arrangement which shares the melody throughout both hands of players 1 and 2. It modulates from the familiar key of G major, to D major, then to Eb major.
The pianists should play louder and/or softer to bring out the melody amongst the texture, with awareness of the other pianist. It is a rather ‘orchestral’ arrangement and imitates many instruments of the orchestra, like ute trills, low brass sections, trumpet interjections, and has a large full range, especially at modulation to last verse. For early advanced players with small hands, feel free to omit octaves (e.g. LH of bar 50 onwards).
Recording on youtube to come!
This piece is dedicated to Isabelle from LHBC in Sydney, who I wrote this arrangement for, in 2022.
