Verse 1 starts in a familiar key of G major, with some third position and triplet subdivisions.
Verse 2 transitions to the dominant key of C major, with the piano enjoying the melody and the violin accompanying with triplet figures. The chorus modulates up a 2nd to Db major, then again to D major.
Verse 3 moves with D major as a dominant chord, back to G major. The time is stretched to a quadruple meter, with a soaring Sul A line. The music goes back to triple meter in the chorus, and the violin plays with strength, accompanied by bold piano chords and figures.
